The news comes following a season where Salter threw for 2,876 yards, and 32 touchdowns with six interceptions. Salter also ran for 1,089 yards and 12 rushing touchdowns. He led the Flames to a 13-1 season along with a Conference USA championship.
Salter was named the Conference USA's Most Valuable Player and was named to the All-CUSA first team this season. Along with his conference accolades in 2023, he was named Hero Sports Player of the Year.
Salter was set to receive plenty of Power Five offers, but seems like in three days, Jamey Chadwell and his staff were able to convince Salter to stay, after that Fiesta Bowl run.
With what might have been the G5's most versatile QB off the board, Power Five teams like the Miami Hurricanes and Auburn will continue to look elsewhere for their next starting quarterback.
