Michigan State head football coach Mel Tucker was officially fired on Wednesday amid an investigation into sexual harassment allegations against him.

Huff took the reigns of Marshall's program prior to the 2021 season. He has amassed a 19-10 record since. Notably, Huff led Marshall to a road win at #8 Notre Dame last season. This was the team’s first win over a top-10 team since 2003. Huff also led the Thundering Herd to a win against Virginia Tech this season, their first win against the Hokies since 1940.
Prior to Marshall, Huff picked notable experience as an Associate Head Coach at Alabama and Mississippi State. Huff also has experience as an assistant at Penn State, Western Michigan, Vanderbilt, Maryland, Hampton, and Tennessee State, as well as the Buffalo Bills.

Huff played at Hampton University as a fullback and offensive lineman from 2001 to 2005.
Marshall is one of six undefeated G5 teams heading into the Week Five slate. They continue their 2023 slate on Saturday when they host Sun Belt foe Old Dominion on ESPN+. It's unlikely we will hear an official comment from Huff on any potential move until after the season, however, Sun Belt football coaches have media availability on Monday afternoons.
