Louisiana Tech finished the season this weekend with a 56-17 loss to FBS newcomer Jacksonville State. The Gamecocks finished with a CUSA record 522 yards.
LA Tech’s defense was 118th in FBS this season and 128th in 2022 in scoring defense under Powers, per 247Sports. They allowed 33.42 games this year and 37.9 in 2022.
“It’s just very disappointing and very embarrassing,” head coach Sonny Cumbie said postgame, reported by Matt Belinson of the Ruston Leader. “We didn’t really come out to play on any side of the football. Jacksonville State dominated us and we did not answer the bell."
The Bulldogs end the season on a five-game losing streak.
