Another former G5 standout will get a shot in the Canadian Football League this summer. 

Former UMass offensive lineman Larnel Coleman has signed a contract with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Coleman was a three-year starter on the Minutemen's o-line and graduated following the 2020 season. He was a seventh-round selection by the Miami Dolphins in 2021.

Coleman appeared in one regular season game for the Dolphins in 2022. Coleman was released by the Dolphins following a knee injury in 2022. He spent the 2023 NFL  preseason with the Carolina Panthers before being released.

In 2023, Winnipeg finished the season with a record of 14-4, losing to Montreal in teh Grey Cup Final. Their most recent Grey Cup Championships came in 2019 and 2021.

CFL training camps for the upcoming season are set to open on Sunday, May 14, 2024.
