MAC Football: Longtime Ohio Bobcats Coach Frank Solich Elected To College Football Hall of Fame
The 2024 College Football Hall of Fame class was announced on Monday afternoon with a prominent former MAC coach included.
Frank Solich, who was Ohio's head coach from 2005 to 2020, will be enshrined in the CFB Hall in Atlanta this later this year. Solich was 115-82 with five bowl wins in 11 postseason appearances for the Bobcats. Solich retired after the 2020 season.

Solich won the MAC East with Ohio four times: 2006, 2009, 2011, and 2016. Solich was MAC Coach of the Year in 2006. This was the season that Ohio reached a bowl game for the first time since 1968.
Prior to the 2022 season, Ohio christened their new turf as "Frank Solich Field."
Before spending 16 years in Athens, Solich was also the head coach of Nebraska, his alma mater, for six seasons. He went 58-19 with the Huskers, winning the Big 12 once and Big 12 Coach of the Year twice and National Coach of the Year in 1999.
