ESPN's Adam Rittenberg reported on Sunday that Tim Lester has found a new home in the Big Ten.

Per Rittenberg, Lester will replace Brian Ferentz as the next offensive coordinator of the Iowa Hawkeyes. Lester was 37-32 in six seasons as the Western Michigan head coach from 2017 through 2022. Lester was fired after the 2022 season in which he went 5-7 - his only losing season with the Broncos. He spent the 2023 season as an offensive analyst with the Green Bay Packers.

Lester also played quarterback at Western Michigan from 1996 to 1999. He was the MAC Co-Freshman of the Year in 1996.

In 2017, Lester was hired at WMU to replace PJ Fleck, who left for the head coach job at Minnesota.

In 2023, WMU went 4-8 in their first season under new head coach Lance Taylor.

The former Bronco QB inherits an Iowa offense that averaged an FBS-worst 234.6 yards per game in 2023, as well as an FBS-worst 3.94 yards per play. Despite that, the Hawkeyes were 10-4 in 2023.
