The American Football Coaches Association released their All-America teams on Thursday night for several levels of college football. In FBS, only one player from the Group of Five was recognized on the first team defense. That honor went to Air Force safety Trey Taylor.

Taylor was also recognized last week with the 2023 Jim Thorpe Award, given to the top defensive back in FBS. That was only the second time in Air Force history that a Falcon has won a major college football individual award.

Taylor finished the season the regular season with three interceptions, one of which he returned for a touchdown against San Diego State. He broke up four total passes on the year.

The senior from Frisco, Texas also had 67 total tackles this season, including 4.5 for a loss. In two different games, he had at least ten tackles.

Air Force are 8-4 and conclude their season by playing James Madison in the Armed Forces Bowl in Fort Worth on December 23.
