San Diego State Defensive End Daniel Okpoko Invited To CFL Combine
This time in the calendar year marks when former college football standouts take steps to pursue their professional dreams, in the United States or otherwise.
From the Mountain West, San Diego State defensive end Daniel Okpoko was one of the prospects invited to the CFL Combine from March 19 to 24 in Winnipeg.
The 6'5", 275-pounder played high school football in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. He was a member of the U18 Canada national team at that point. Okpoko is originally from Lagos, Nigeria.

In five seasons with the Aztecs, Okpoko totaled 35 tackles with five for a loss, two sacks, and four passes defended.
Okpoko was a rotational player for SDSU in 2021 and 2022, then became a full-time starter in 2023. He had 23 total tackles with 3.5 behind the line of scrimmage in his final college season.
The CFL Draft is scheduled for April 30.
