UPSET: Wyoming Knocks Off #24 Fresno State
Prior to this season, Wyoming had not beaten a ranked opponent since 2016. Tonight, the Cowboys took down #24 Fresno State on Saturday night in Laramie.
Going up against the undefeated Bulldogs, the Wyoming Cowboys were 3.5-point underdogs prior to kickoff. They ended up with a 24-19 victory.
An interception by nose tackle Cole Godbout in the final minute secured the victory for Wyo.
Fresno Can't Overcome Slow Start
With Fresno failing to score in the first quarter of this game, they turned in a scoreless quarter for the first time since last season's Mountain West title game. After trailing 24-7 at the half, Fresno played an improved second half, but ultimately fell short. The Wyoming defense held the Bulldogs to 324 yards, a season low for Jeff Tedford's team.

An Offensive First Half To Remember
While the Cowboys didn't score in the second half, the first half yielded a few important milestones.
Receiver Wyatt Wieland achieved his first game with multiple touchdown catches. Quarterback Andrew Peasley found Wieland in the end zone on back-to-back drives, running what looked like the exact same route.
Peasley finished the game with three touchdown passes, which tied his career high. His night ended with 19 completions on 27 attempts for 183 yards.
Injuries For Mikey Keene and Harrison Waylee
It wasn't immediately clear the severity of Fresno quarterback Mikey Keene's injury, but he exited the game with eight and a half minutes remaining and did not return. Logan Fife stepped in after that and finished with 68 passing yards, a touchdown, and an interception.
For Wyoming, running back Harrison Waylee had to be helped off the field in the fourth quarter after appearing to injure the same knee he had surgery on this offseason. Waylee carried the ball 22 times for 83 yards in this game.
The Cowboys play at an undefeated Air Force squad next Saturday.
