The Fresno State Bulldogs are off to a great start for the 2023 College Football Season. Jeff Tedford's team is 3-0 after beginning the year with wins over Purdue, Eastern Washington and Arizona State.

Ahead of the Week Four slate kicking off, SportsBetting.ag has released updated national championship odds. Two weeks ago, Fresno State were listed with 1000/1 odds to win the national championship. Now, they are listed with 500/1 odds.

In this latest round of updated odds, Fresno State was the only team from the Group of Five given odds to win the national championship. The Bulldogs are one of seven teams in the G5 who have yet to lose a game. They are one of only two unbeaten G5 teams to have a win over a Power Five team so far. Additionally, they are the only G5 team with two wins over Power Five teams this season.

Fresno State is also one of only ten FBS squads with a shutout win at this point in the season. They are tied with Liberty for the top turnover margin in all of FBS. They are also tied for the national lead in total forced turnovers with ten. Defensive back Carlton Johnson is one of just seven FBS players with three interceptions to start the season.

Receiver Erik Brooks also ranks top ten in receiving yards through three weeks.

If they reach the College Football Playoff this season, they would be the second team from the Group of Five to do so. Cincinnati, then a member of the AAC, reached the playoff following the 2021 season.

This week, the Bulldogs are set to continue their season at home when they play host to Kent State.
