App State End JMU's Unbeaten Run In Harrisonburg
A day that started in celebration on the JMU campus ended in frustration for Dukes fans. The Appalachian State Mountaineers managed to hang on for a - win against the undefeated Dukes, bringing JMU's 13-game winning streak to an end.
The game entered overtime tied at 20 points a piece. JMU couldn't punch it in on their first possession of the OT period and settled for a field goal. Kaedin Robinson caught a pass from Joey Aguilar on third down and managed to just barely get the ball over the goal line to secure the win. The call was reviewed and upheld.

App State win their fourth-straight game. It was their sixth result of the season that was decided by a touchdown or less.
"We're built for this," Shawn Clark said postgame. "This is not an upset. This is the next team on our schedule."
App State quarterback Joey Aguilar finished with 26 completions on 42 completions for 293 yards and with two touchdown passes and an interception. The App State defense held JMU to just five points through the first three quarters.
Neither team rushed for more than 70 yards in the game.

The Dukes fall to 10-1 on the season with a 6-1 record in conference play. JMU had their final plea for automatic bowl eligibility denied earlier this week. However, the Dukes can still go to a bowl game if there are not enough six-win teams to fill all of the available bowl spots.
Appalachian State improve to 7-4 with a 5-2 record in conference play. They're now tied for the lead in the SBC East Division with Coastal Carolina with one week left.
