On a night where the South Alabama offense scored an impressive seven rushing touchdowns, Florida State transfer La'Damian Webb headlined the Jaguar attack.

In the 55-3 victory, Webb rushed for 102 yards and four touchdowns on 20 carries. His four rushing touchdowns tied the school record for a single game. Webb himself set that record last season when the Jags played Georgia Southern. Tuesday also marked the sixth-straight game with a rushing touchdown for Webb and his sixth 100-yard performance for South Alabama.

Postgame, head coach Kane Wommack pointed to his team's ability to overpower Southern Miss' exceptional front seven as a reason for the plethora of rushing scores. The Jaguars were seven-for-seven on converting trips to the red zone in this game.

"It's hard to run the ball in general, in the Sun Belt," Wommack said postgame. "But it's really hard to run the ball in the red zone. Our offensive line and tight ends did a tremendous job in blocking up a bunch of their mixtures of fronts. I thought the D-Line is the best part of their football team and we really handled them well for the majority of the night. And then you've got some special backs out there that can create some yards after contact."

South Alabama's 647 total yards were a single game program record.

With the win, the Jaguars improve to 4-3 on the season, with a 2-1 conference record. They will have ten days until they play Louisiana on October 28.
