Appalachian State have lost three wide receivers in the transfer portal this cycle. They gained some reinforcements at the position for 2024 on Saturday.

Former South Carolina receiver Zavier Short announced his commitment to the Mountaineers on social media this weekend.

Short is listed at 6'2" and 212 pounds. Short finished his redshirt freshman season this past year at South Carolina, but did not register any statistics. Short is Chapin High School's all-time leading receiver with 217 catches for 3,391 yards. He was a three-star prospect in the class of 2022, per 247Sports.

The Mountaineers were second in the Sun Belt in passing yards in 2023 with 3830. App State quarterback and 2023 Sun Belt Newcomer of the Year Joey Aguilar threw 33 touchdowns with ten interceptions. Redshirt junior Kaedin Robinson was App State's leading receiver with 905 yards and ten touchdowns.
