Joe Bryant Jr. was one of the top basketball players at Norfolk State, particularly among HBCUs. The Spartan has been invited to participate in the NBA G League Elite Camp, where he can showcase his basketball talent and skills.  The camp is a three-day event where NBA draft prospects can feature their basketball aptitude in front of NBA and NBA G League scouts, coaches, and front-office personnel. The athletes will participate in five-on-five games and strength and agility drills along with individual performances.

Only a select number of players from the camp will get invites to participate in the NBA Draft Combine later in the week. The NBA G League Elite Camp will occur in Chicago from May 13-14. The NBA Combine activities will be held at Wintrust Arena from May 16-18.

Since declaring for the NBA Draft, Bryant has had good showings against tough competition at the 2023 Reese's College All-Star Game, the 2nd Annual HBCU All-Star Game, and the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament (PIT).

Joe Bryant Jr. can boost his NBA prospect by performing well at the NBA G League Elite Camp. In the past, several NBA players put themselves on the map with solid performances, like Memphis Grizzlies forward Kenneth Lofton Jr. and New Orleans Pelicans guard Jose Alvarado.

Acquiring an invitation to the 2023 NBA Combine will likely be a key component of whether or not Bryant returns to school for his last year of eligibility. May is an important month — aside from the elite camp and combine, players who return to college must do so by May 31.
