Thrivent HBCU Classic To Be Streamed By Urban Edge Network

Urban Edge Network continues to pioneer the HBCU streaming market with a Texas Legends G League Game at Paul Quinn College.

HOUSTON –  Urban Edge Network (UEN) will broadcast the Thrivent HBCU Classic, featuring a double header basketball contest with the Texas Legends G League Game followed by Paul Quinn College on November 4.

The showcase will begin at 1:30 PM matchup between the Paul Quinn women’s team and Texas Wesleyan.  The Texas Legends take the court at 4 PM when they host the Austin Spurs.  It will be the NBA G League’s first-ever game at an HBCU school.

“We are thrilled to host our first Thrivent HBCU Classic at Paul Quinn,” said Legends President Malcolm Farmer.  “We have the opportunity to showcase multiple partnerships in this event and get our partners working together in a unique way.”

UEN will broadcast both Paul Quinn College basketball games live, marking the first time the program will be streamed on the platform and debuting the UEN-Legends partnership.

“When Malcolm told us about the Classic, we couldn’t say yes fast enough,” said UEN Founder/Chief Revenue Officer Hardy Pelt.  “We are excited to be tipping off the Legends partnership in a major way but also introducing our streamers to Paul Quinn and highlighting their top-tier women’s program. It’s a win for all of us.”

Tickets can be purchased at the door, and availability will be limited. The Legends open the 2023-24 season at home, hosting the Oklahoma City Blue on Nov. 10th and 11th at 7:30 PM.  For tickets or information, call 214-469-0822 or visit www.TexLegends.com.
