Urban Edge, Texas Legends Partner To Broadcast NBA G League Games

The Texas Legends of the NBA G League forms an historic broadcasting partnership with Urban Edge Networks.

HOUSTON, TX - The Texas Legends of the NBA G League have announced a historic broadcasting partnership with Urban Edge Network (UEN). The black-owned media company will be the first to stream the Texas Legends' G League basketball games on its UEN digital platforms.

The new multi-year agreement is the first time an NBA G League team has allied with a black-owned media group as its official streaming broadcasting network.

"Our team is excited about all this partnership means for both parties," Texas Legends President Malcolm Farmer said. "We're excited to be part of the growth process for UEN and excited to provide our fanbase an upgraded viewership experience."

Todd F. Brown, a longtime media industry businessman, is the CEO and founder of Urban Edge Network. He has built the UEN streaming platform from the ground up, establishing it as one of the most well-known brands in HBCU sports.

UEN has created technology to personalize the Legends' fan experience based on their interests. Their specialized creative solutions and unique media consumption environments help brands understand and reach diverse audiences.

The Texas Legends and Urban Edge Network agreement will build brand exposure and reach for the companies. The alliance is UEN's first venture into professional sports after offering HBCU sports streaming broadcasts with HBCU+.

The Legends plan to boost its audience by creating a dedicated platform for its G League contests and expanding the team's marketing efforts.

"This partnership is our first venture outside of the HBCU space, and we're excited to grow and expand," said Hardy L. Pelt, Founding Member/ Chief Revenue Officer of Urban Edge Network. "The Legends are the perfect team to initiate this movement. They completely understand the importance of having diverse options and the tremendous potential for brands to buy in at sincere investment levels. This changes everything!"

UEN will begin its broadcasts with a preseason exhibition game that will be announced at a later date. The Legends and UEN will collaborate on in-arena marketing to promote tune-in opportunities and encourage app downloads while working together to develop audiences and integrate UEN into the Legends Family.
