Jackson State University's "Sonic Boom of the South" Marching Band electrified the Tournament of Roses Parade spectators on New Year's Day 2025. The band's performance and procession were featured in the NBC broadcast.

Dr. Little had the band playing tunes like Doug E. Fresh's "The Show", The Temptations' "Get Ready," and "Holding Out for a Hero" by Bonnie Tyler, as the five drum majors led the band.

On Dec. 30, the band brought dynamic rhythm, energy, and showmanship to the 44th annual Bandfest for the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California.
