Deion Sanders Sets Record Straight On His Surgery

Deion Sanders sets the record straight on his upcoming surgery to fix blood clots in his legs.

Deion Sanders revealed on social media the reason why he will undergo surgery to fix blood clots in his legs.  On Thursday, Pat McAfee show contributor, Adam "Pacman" Jones, reported on Coach Prime's pending surgery.  "I had a chance to talk to him this morning...I hope they don't have to cut off [another body part]...just cut the leg off," Jones said.

Sanders posted a video on social media to explain Friday's surgery and dispel any inaccuracies:

"I met with my doctors a week ago, got hammer toes in two toes, and they want to straighten those out," the former Jackson State head coach told fans.  "I'm not receiving enough blood flow in order to do that surgery and another surgery to fix the dislocation of the foot, as well.  So this is where we are now.  There is no talk of amputation.  There's no talk of any of that whatsoever.  The doctors were just telling me worse come to worse, this was going to happen, but I believe in staying right so we never have to take that left."

Next, Coach Prime disclosed, "I went to the doctor's done day to check myself out.  And I have two clots in my leg, one in my right leg, one in my left leg, which is my thighs.  Okay, so now I'm having to procedure tomorrow [Friday] to try to get those clots so now I can have proper blood flow to the leg so they can fix the toes.  Okay, this was going on.  That is it.  You heard it from me."

Last week Deion Sanders received information from his medical as seen on Thee Pregame Show.  His medical team and surgeons are Dr. Donald Jacobs, Dr. Max Wohlauer, orthopedic surgeon Dr. Ken Hunt, and athletic trainer Lauren Askevold.  They expressed concerns that his foot numbness may result from reduced blood pressure in his leg.  According to the Pro Football Hall of Famer, the clots in his legs are the culprits, and he'll undergo surgery Friday, June 23.
