After a couple of weeks since the filming portions of his controversial "Send a Blitz" rap video inside the locker room of Florida A&M, Real Boston Richey has decided to remove it from circulation. Richey posted the following statement on social media:

"OUT OF RESPECT FOR FAMU, THE VIDEO FOR VIDEO "SEND A BLITZ" IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE. I HAVE A LONG-STANDING AMICABLE RELATIONSHIP WITH THE FAMU COMMUNITY AND IT'S ATHLETIC TEAMS, AND I HOPE TO CONTINUE TO BUILD WITH THEM IN THE FUTURE. THIS VIDEO WAS NOT MEANT TO BE DISRESPECTFUL IN ANY WAY BUT TO HIGHLIGHT MY LOVE FOR THE SCHOOL AND ITS TEAMS. SENDING LOTS OF LOVE TO THE RATTLERS FOR A GREAT SEASON, AND GO STREAM "SEND A BLITZ" REAL BOSTON RICHEY."

Following the video's initial release, head coach Willie Simmons suspended football operations at FAMU until the school investigated the unauthorized use of Galimore-Powell Fieldhouse. Before shutting down football-related activities, Coach Simmons released the following statement:

"Earlier today, it was brought to my attention that a rap video was shot by a prominent rapper in the football locker room of Galimore-Powell Fieldhouse without proper authorization. The video contained graphic language that is not consistent with Florida A&M's core values, principles, and beliefs, and an internal investigation is underway to determine who authorized the use of not only the athletic facility at Galimore-Powell but also licensed apparel that potentially violates university branding and licensing agreements. Although I am a proud proponent of free speech and support all forms of musical expressions, this football team (as ambassadors of Florida A&M University) has a responsibility to protect the university's image. As a result of this unfortunate situation, as head football coach, I am effectively suspending all football-related activities until further notice. It is a privilege to wear orange and green, and as a football program, our young men have failed to live up to the standard set before us. They will all learn from this mishap, and we will continue to work hard every day to become the best version of ourselves and continue to make Rattler Nation proud."  Coach Willie Simmons, Florida A&M Football

A few days later, Simmons and 2023 SWAC Preseason Player of the Year, Jeremy Moussa, fielded questions at the 2023 SWAC Football Media Day. "We've always been a close group," Moussa told HBCU Legends. "I think that we just took the punches and moved on." Vice president and athletic director Tiffani-Dawn Sykes has not commented on the investigation results or if agreements have been violated.

Florida A&M, 9-2 in 2022, will open the season against Jackson State in the 2023 Orange Blossom Classic at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens on Sept. 3. The Tigers have won the previous two matches against the Rattlers since the renewal of the classic. SWAC coaches' preseason vote forecasts Florida A&M as the top team in the conference and winning the SWAC East Division.

Key Points: FAMU, Florida A&M, Real Boston Richey, SWAC, Willie Simmons, Galimore-Powell Fieldhouse, Jackson State, Orange Blossom Classic, Jeremy Moussa
