ATLANTA -- In the first week of HBCU football, we witnessed an exciting fireworks display, with top-notch defensive performances and several programs starting strong in conference play. Florida A&M dominated against Jackson State, winning the Orange Blossom Classic. Prairie View outlasted Texas Southern, while Alabama State secured a victory against Southern at home, thanks to a strong second-half performance.

Week 2 of the college football season features exciting games between HBCU and FBS teams. One of the most anticipated matchups is between Grambling State and in-state rival LSU, currently ranked No. 14 in the AP College Poll. Another in-state game to look out for is Florida A&M taking on South Florida.

The Southern Heritage Classic in Memphis will feature a game between Arkansas-Pine Bluff and Tennessee State. At the same time, the annual Aggie-Eagle Classic will pit North Carolina Central against North Carolina A&T. It's a chance for some teams to get in the win column and for others to continue the success of the opening weekend.
