HBCU Football Schedule, How To Watch | Week 5

HBCU football has a full slate of games in Week 5 of the 2023 season.

HOUSTON - Week 5 in the HBCU football metaverse takes us on the Homecoming ride at several destinations, re-kindled rivalries, and a classic that may settle one division in the SWAC.

SWAC PREVIEW - WEEK 5

The Game of the Week is Prairie View A&M vs. Grambling State at the 2023 State Fair Classic in Dallas, TX, at the Cotton Bowl. There are many reasons to watch a SWAC West clash of the division's top two teams. Should Prairie View win, their divisional record will remain unblemished and improve to 3-0. If the G-Men are victorious, they will climb into the top spot at 2-0 with tough divisional games remaining on the schedule. The Panthers can't afford to slip here and give the Tigers an advantage going into the heart of conference action over the next several weeks.

MEAC PREVIEW - WEEK 5

With no conference games scheduled this week, the MEAC teams have combative opponents on the slate. Keep an eye on the NC A&T at Norfolk State and Campbell at NCCU matches.

CIAA PREVIEW - WEEK 5

All conference foes will be squaring off this week. Virginia State, Johnson C. Smith, Bowie State, Fayetteville State, and Winston-Salem State are playing with undefeated conference records and could stay that way against their Week-5 opponents.

SIAC PREVIEW - WEEK 6

Fort Valley State at Allen is the SIAC Game of Week 5. Allen has an untarnished conference record at 2-0, while Valley is 3-0. The Yellow Jackets hold the series advantage at 6-2-2 over the Wildcats. It should be another nail-biter like in 2022 when Fort Valley won 29-27. The league's top team, Benedict, will host Morehouse in Columbia. Miles traveling to Central State will have conference fireworks as well.
