HOUSTON - HBCU football stars were cut on NFL Cutdown Day but claimed off waivers on Wednesday, according NFL Insider Ian Rapoport.

2021 Buck Buchanan Award winner Isaiah Land was waived by the Dallas Cowboys.  The Indianapolis Colts claimed the linebacker on Wednesday morning.

Claudin Cherelus, Alcorn State's standout linebacker, had a limited time at New York Jets training camp due to an injury.  The Carolina Panthers claimed the speedy and tough defender.

Also on Wednesday morning, the New Orleans Saints signed former South Carolina State wide receiver, Shaquan Davis, to the team's practice squad, per Nick Underhill.
