In the upcoming 2023 season, HBCU GO has plans to broadcast twelve exciting SWAC football games. The first match to kick off the season will be between Central State and Mississippi Valley State in the Chicago Football Classic. The game will be held at Soldiers Stadium at 4 PM ET on Saturday, Sept. 2. The following week features the Southern Heritage Classic at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium featuring Arkansas-Pine Bluff and Tennessee State at 7 PM ET on Saturday, Sept. 9.

One of the significant matches will happen at Eddie G. Robinson Memorial Stadium when Grambling State and Texas Southern square off in a battle of the Tigers. TSU quarterback Andrew Body leads his team for a crucial SWAC West showdown at 3 PM ET on Saturday, Sept. 23. Last season at then PNC Stadium in Houston, TX, TSU dominated Hue Jackson's team, winning 41-7.

Another game worth checking out is the second SIAC-SWAC conference contest between Alabama A&M and Tuskegee University at 3 PM ET on Sept. 30.

Two highly-anticipated end-of-season matchups to consider are first the Alabama A&M versus Bethune-Cookman game on Nov. 11. The next week will have Coach Hampton's Arkansas-Pine Bluff squad visiting Texas Southern on Nov. 18. If Clarence McKinney's Tigers win against the Golden Lions, they might be in the thick of things to secure the SWAC West title.

Connell Maynor's Bulldogs could be one of the most overlooked teams in the SWAC this preseason. The Ol' Ball Coach will have his hands full against rookie head coach Raymond Woodie Jr.'s Wildcats in Daytona. It's a game that could have significant SWAC East implications.

“I am proud to build on our partnership with SWAC and Commissioner Dr. Charles McClelland to deliver 12 must-watch football games to our viewers this season,” said Curtis Symonds, President and Co-founder HBCU GO.  “We are committed to bringing the best of HBCU culture and sports to our growing audience and SWAC fans.”

Beginning last fall (2022-23 season), HBCU GO began distributing programming for the SWAC across all sports, including football, basketball, volleyball, and Olympic sports.  The partnership includes live coverage of over 2,000 SWAC games and events. Some of these games and events will also air on AMG’s free-streaming digital platforms theGrio, Local Now, and Sports.TV.

“The Southwestern Athletic Conference is extremely pleased with our historic partnership with HBCU GO and the Allen Media Group (AMG),” said SWAC Commissioner Dr. Charles McClelland.  He added, “The overall visibility and brand awareness this partnership has provided our league and the twelve member institutions has been historic.

The national exposure provided by the HBCU GO platforms has exalted our brand and elevated the SWAC to one of the nation’s most visible and viewed conferences.  We look forward to continuing this partnership for many years to come as we seek continuous growth and visibility with the direct assistance of HBCU GO and AMG.”

Media mogul Byron Allen, the owner of Allen Media Group, purchased HBCU GO in 2021.  Allen's holdings include The Weather Channel, The Grio Television, Comedy.TV, Sports.TV, Pets.TV, and other free-streaming channels.

HBCU GO recently announced partnerships with the other three major HBCU sports conferences, MEAC, SIAC, and SIAC.
