HBCU Legacy Bowl's 'Tristen Edgerson Memorial Scholarship'

HBCU Legacy Bowl's 'Tristen Edgerson Memorial Scholarship' applications available.

Tristen Edgerson, a former student of Grambling State University and a graduate of McNeese State University, was about to launch his career in sports journalism. Unfortunately, at the age of 23, the New Orleans native lost his life due to a sudden brain hemorrhage. In the second year, the HBCU Legacy Bowl's "Tristen Edgerson Memorial Scholarship" will aid college students with aspirations of enrolling at an HBCU institution.

"He had just received a college degree and had an internship with Sports Illustrated's Saints News Network.  Tristen was a bright and insightful young man.  We dearly missed his contributions at the network."

Kyle T. Mosley

Tristen Edgerson could not fulfill his dreams after college, but to keep his legacy alive, we aim to offer another individual the chance to pursue their own. The Allstate HBCU Legacy Bowl will award four HBCU students a merit and need-based scholarship worth $2,500 each to honor Tristen's life and continue his legacy.
