Former Florida A&M Head Football Coach Willie Simmons Wins 2023 National Coach Of The Year Award

The National Coalition of Minority Football Coaches has selected the former Florida A&M head football coach as its 2023 National Coach of the Year.

The National Coalition of Minority Football Coaches has selected Willie Simmons as its 2023 National Coach of the Year. Simmons, 43, led Florida A&M University (12-1) to win the 2023 SWAC title, Celebration Bowl, and HBCU Division I Football National Championship.

BREAKING: Willie Simmons Resigns From Florida A&M, Accepts Position At Duke

After six seasons of coaching with the Rattlers football program in Tallahassee, the head coach had an overall record of 66-24. Simmons resigned on Jan. 1 to accept the position at Duke University to coach the Blue Devils running backs. Also, he's a two-time AFCA Region 3 Coach of the Year award winner in 2022 and 2023.
