Running back Jarveon Howard's workout at the Mississippi State NFL Pro Day on Tuesday should open the eyes of scouts and the willingness of general managers/owners with running back-deficient clubs.

Howard had an outstanding workout, running 4.52 seconds in the 40-yard dash, bench-pressing 225 pounds 28 times, vertical jumping 36.5 inches, and broad jumping 10 feet and 8 inches.
The Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, New Orleans Saints, and even the Super Bowl Champions from Kansas City could elevate their backfield with a running back with Howard's natural talent and capabilities.

The Syracuse transfer had immediate success with the Alcorn Braves under Fred McNair.
The 5-10 and 200-pound rusher instilled fear in defenses with his power and breakaway speed during his 2022 campaign when he became the Southwestern Athletic Conference's leading rusher.

With the Braves, he rushed 403 times for 2,048 yards and 19 touchdowns. In the 2023 season, he was utilized more as a receiver out of the backfield, catching 29 balls for 184 yards and averaging 16.7 yards per reception.

NFL teams must take a closer look at Jarveon Howard for a potential mid to late-round pick as a running back in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft.
