Patriots cornerback Isaiah Bolden was carted off the field during a preseason game against the Green Bay Packers with 10:29 remaining on the clock.  New England drafted the former Jackson State star as the 245th overall selection in the seventh round of the 2023 NFL Draft.   He became the only HBCU football player drafted by an NFL in 2023.

According to Zack Cox of NESN, "Bolden collided with Patriots linebacker Calvin Munson in pass coverage during the fourth quarter of Saturday night's game at Lambeau Field. He remained down on the field, motionless, and eventually was loaded onto a stretcher and placed on a cart."

Coaches Bill Belichick (Patriots) and Matt LaFleur (Packers) decided to end the football game following the rookie's injury.

"Upon mutual agreement of the teams, tonight's game between the New England Patriots and the Green Bay Packers has been suspended," the Patriots announced in a team statement.

Bolden, 23, ran a 4.35 40-yard dash in preparation for the NFL Draft. New England signed the Wesley Chapel, Florida native to a 4-year, $3.92M rookie contract in May. He played on the special teams unit returning kickoffs for the Patriots in their first preseason contest in Week 1.  Earlier in the game, Isaiah Bolden returned a kickoff to New England's 39-yard-line.
