Urban Edge Network, Bluefield University Announces Historic Partnership

Urban Edge Network and Bluefield University announce digital streaming partnership deal.

Bluefield University will partner with Urban Edge Network to stream the institution's home athletic events. UEN and BU first joined forces for BU’s season-opening game against Florida Memorial University at Bluefield’s historic Mitchell Stadium.  BU Director of Athletics Corey Mullins is excited about the new relationship with Urban Edge Network.

“Our partnership with UEN will allow us to expand our streaming capabilities and continue to grow our brand,” Mullins said. “In the future we will have the possibility of multiple camera views at our events along with enhanced graphics and replay capabilities. The partnership will also take Bluefield University to new, diverse markets throughout the United States and the world.”

BU is the first non-HBCU to join the UEN family of schools and the network is looking forward to working with Bluefield University.  “We are thrilled about this historic partnership between UEN and Bluefield University, “ Todd Brown, Co-Founder and CEO, Urban Edge Network said.  “We love the extended audience reach that this creates, as well as the market expansion and the ability to focus on the hometown sports fans.”

UEN and BU will provide opportunities for BU students to engage in broadcast opportunities and develop the talent and skill necessary for a career in sports media production.  In addition to live streams of athletic events. UEN provides Bluefield University with its exclusive channel which will play other BU athletic programming and past events.  There will also be an on-demand function where viewers can choose what to watch.  The UEN app is available on Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Samsung TV, iOS, and Android.
