As the JSU Sonic Boom entertained the JSU faithful, Deion Sanders led his team to an overwhelming 43-7 win over their SWAC rivals, Mississippi Valley State University. Coach Prime's team controlled the tempo of the game throughout the contest.

Jackson State's quarterback trio of Jones, Casey, and Mallory passed for over 303 yards versus the Delta Devil's defense. Jones was more effective by tossing 14/27 attempts for 250 yards and 3 touchdowns.

JSU's pair of wide receivers Baldwin (136 yards) and Reed (120 yards) eclipsed the century mark in yards. Running back Tyson Alexander ran for 71 yards. Quarterbacks Jones and Casey notched 1 rushing touchdown apiece.

Mississippi Valley State quarterback Jalani Eason ran for 11 yards for the Delta Devils lone score in the fourth quarter. Eason threw 117 yards, but had a 73.0 QBR against the tough Tigers defense.

Jackson State is 3-0 in the FCS 2021 Spring session. Mississippi Valley fell to 0-1.
