How to Watch Indiana Baseball Against West Virginia on Friday
Indiana baseball is in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2019, and the Hoosiers begin postseason play on Friday against West Virginia in the Lexington Regional. Here's how to watch, plus team records, series history, the coaching matchup, stat leaders and more.
LEXINGTON, Ky. – Indiana baseball begins the NCAA Tournament on Friday with a matchup against the West Virginia Mountaineers.
The Hoosiers earned the No. 3 seed in the Lexington Regional, which includes No. 1 Kentucky, No. 2 West Virginia and No. 4 Ball State. As the host team, Kentucky received the No. 12 overall seed after a 36-18 campaign.
The Lexington Regional a double-elimination tournament, beginning on Friday and concluding Monday night. One winner will emerge from the regional field and advance to the Super Regionals next weekend.

Meet the coaches
- Randy Mazey, West Virginia: Mazey is in his 11th season at West Virginia. After a 21-year postseason drought at West Virginia, Mazey has turned the program around, including an NCAA Tournament appearance in 2017, hosting an NCAA Regional in 2019 and four consecutive Big 12 Championship semifinal appearances from 2016-19. During his playing career, Mazey was a three-time All-ACC selection as an outfielder/pitcher from 1985-88 at Clemson.
- Jeff Mercer, Indiana: Mercer is in his fifth season at Indiana. He led the Hoosiers to a Big Ten title and NCAA Tournament appearance in 2019. After finishing second in the Big Ten with their first 40-win regular season since 2013, Mercer will make his second NCAA Tournament appearance in 2023. During his playing career, Mercer was a third-team All-American for Wright State in 2009 after hitting .357 with 26 doubles and 74 RBI.
