Indiana Baseball's Devin Taylor Collects First Big Ten Player of the Week Honors
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Indiana baseball sophomore outfielder Devin Taylor was named the Big Ten Player of the Week Monday by the league’s office. Only two weekends into the 2024 season, it’s Taylor’s first player of the week honors. Last season, he was named the conference’s freshman of the week three times and the Big Ten Freshman of the Year.
Over the past week, Taylor batted 10-for-15 with one double, three home runs, and six walks as the No. 20 Hoosiers went 4-0. That included the program’s first true non-conference road sweep since 2007. In seven games, Taylor leads Indiana with a .552 batting average, a .987 slugging percentage and a .629 on-base percentage. His 16 hits rank fifth in the nation.
Indiana plays at home at 4 p.m. Tuesday against Purdue Fort Wayne. The game can be watched on Big Ten-plus.
