BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana's baseball schedule for the 2020 season was announced on Tuesday. The defending Big Ten regular season champions will open the season at perennial power LSU and have  29 games scheduled at Bart Kaufman Field.

The 2020 schedule has 19 games scheduled against nine teams who earned berths to last year's NCAA Tournament.

In conference play, IU will host Ohio State (March 27-29), Michigan State (April 17-19), Michigan (May 1-3) and Nebraska (May 14-16).

On the road in the conference, the Hoosiers will face Penn State (April 3-5), Northwestern (April 10-12), Rutgers (April 24-26) and Purdue (May 8-10).

“We’re excited for the opportunities this schedule provides,” Indiana coach Jeff Mercer said in a release. “We’ll challenge ourselves against some of the best programs in the country on the road, while still playing a significant amount of home games in front of our terrific fan base. We look forward to a successful 2020 season with a great group of young men.”

Indiana begins the season with a three-game series at LSU on Feb. 14 in Baton Rouge, La. The Hoosiers will then head to Mobile, Ala. to face UT-Martin, South Alabama and Siena in the South Alabama Tournament from Feb. 21-23.

IU’s home opener is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 26 against in-state rival Butler. The first series in the Big Ten is March 27-29 against Ohio State.

The Big Ten tournament is again in Omaha, Neb., with the top eight teams in the league competing at the end of the regular season.
