2025 5-Star Joson Sanon Visiting Indiana For Kansas Game

Indiana is scheduled to host an official visit Saturday for Joson Sanon, a five-star recruit in the class of 2025 who may reclassify.

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – It's an important Saturday for Indiana coach Mike Woodson from both a coaching and recruiting standpoint.

The Hoosiers host No. 2 Kansas at 12:30 p.m. ET, and five-star recruit Joson Sanon will be in attendance, according to multiple reports.

Sonon is a 6-foot-5 shooting guard/small forward in the class of 2025.

However, 247 Sports' recruiting analyst Adam Finklestein said Sonon could possibly reclassify to the class of 2024 and play college basketball during the 2024-25 season. Though Sonon is in his junior season, Finklestein said this is currently his fourth year of high school. He attends Vermont Academy in Saxtons River, Vt. and plays for Expressions Elite on the Nike EYBL Circuit.

Sonon is a consensus top-15 recruit among class of 2025 prospects. He's ranked No. 10 in the nation by ESPN, No. 11 by On3 and Rivals, and No. 13 by 247 Sports. Indiana offered Sonon in October, and he also holds scholarship offers from Alabama, Arizona, Boston College, Bryant, Georgetown, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Iowa, Marquette, UMass, Miami (Fla.), Nebraska, Oklahoma State, Providence, Syracuse and UNLV.

Here's a description of Sonon's game, per On3:

"Joson Sanon has a basketball player's frame, with long arms and wide-set shoulders. His pace is excellent, Sanon is never rushed with the ball. At 6-6, he has a pure jump shot with range beyond the arc. He is comfortable shooting off the bounce or the catch, keeping his mechanics consistent throughout. Sanon is a good athlete with explosion and burst. He has the upside to be a good defender, both on and off the ball. Sanon has a solid handle, comfortable getting to the midrange off one and two dribbles. Sanon is tracking among the top in his class."
