Trio of 2025 Basketball Recruits Visiting Indiana Saturday
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – September is a pivotal month for Indiana basketball recruiting, and it starts right away.
A trio of class of 2025 prospects are scheduled to visit Indiana on what should be a vibrant Saturday in Bloomington. The Indiana football team kicks off the 2023 season with a matchup against No. 3 Ohio State at 3:30 p.m. ET at Memorial Stadium. The game will be nationally televised on CBS.
On the basketball side, recruiting targets Jalen Haralson, Darius Adams and Malachi Moreno are expected to be in Bloomington this weekend.
Indiana has been involved with Haralson's recruitment for nearly two years, extending a scholarship offer on Oct. 14, 2021. The 6-foot-6 guard started at Fishers High School in Indiana, but announced this summer that he'll spend his last two years of high school at La Lumiere in La Porte, Ind. La Lumiere plays a national schedule and has recently produced NBA players like Jaden Ivey, Jeremy Sochan, Jaren Jackson Jr., Jordan Poole and others.
Haralson is a consensus five-star recruit in the class of 2025. Receiving scholarship offers from top programs around the country, Haralson is ranked No. 5 by On3, No. 8 by 247 Sports and ESPN and No. 11 by Rivals. He plays for the Indy Heat Gym Rats AAU team on the Nike EYBL circuit.
Haralson will be teammates at La Lumiere with Darius Adams, who's also visiting Indiana this weekend. Adams is a 6-foot-4 guard originally from Manasquan High School in New Jersey.
A consensus four-star recruit, Adams is ranked No. 18 in the nation by 247 Sports, No. 20 by Rivals, No. 34 by On3 and No. 46 in the ESPN Top 100. He plays for the PSA Cardinals AAU team on the Nike EYBL circuit.
Indiana offered Adams a scholarship on Aug. 17. He also has offers from Florida State, Nebraska, Penn State, Fordham, Providence, Rutgers, Seton Hall, St. John's, Syracuse and Washington. Haralson has visited Indiana in the past, but this will be Adams' first time on campus.
The third recruit visiting Indiana this weekend is Malachi Moreno, a 6-foot-11 center. Moreno attends Great Crossing High School in Georgetown, Ky. and plays for the Indiana Elite AAU team on the Adidas 3SSB circuit.
Moreno is a consensus four-star recruit, ranked No. 32 in the nation by On3, No. 50 by 247 Sports and No. 63 by Rivals. Indiana offered Moreno a scholarship on Oct. 28, 2022, and he has already visited campus multiple times. He has also received offers from Alabama, Arkansas, Creighton, Eastern Kentucky, Florida, Iowa, Michigan, Missouri, NC State, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Penn State, Purdue, Tennessee and Virginia Tech.
