BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – A college decision is coming soon for one Indiana's top recruiting targets.

Braylon Mullins will announce his commitment on Oct. 23 at 6 p.m. ET, according to Travis Branham. His final three schools are UConn, Indiana and North Carolina. The announcement can be seen live on the 247Sports YouTube channel.

Mullins is a 6-foot-5 shooting guard in the class of 2025 from Greenfield-Central High School in Greenfield, Ind., just east of Indianapolis. He's a five-star recruit ranked No. 23 in the nation, No. 5 among shooting guards and No. 3 in Indiana, according to the 247Sports Composite.

Indiana coach Mike Woodson and his staff have hosted and visited Mullins several times during the recruiting process. Mullins took an official visit to Indiana on Sept. 21, along with forward Trent Sisley, who committed to Indiana shortly after the visit, and center Eric Reibe, who remains uncommitted.

Sisley is currently the only player committed to Indiana in the class of 2025. Indiana also hosted an official visit for point guard Mikel Brown Jr. during the weekend of Sept. 14, and the Hoosiers recently made the top four for forward Bryson Tiller.

Mullins is considered one of the top 3-point shooters in his class. As a junior at Greenfield-Central, he averaged 25 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 3.2 steals per game while shooting 56% from the field and 43% from 3-point range.

Indiana offered Mullins a scholarship in September 2023, and he visited Indiana all the way back in November 2022. But after strong showings last spring and summer, interest in Mullins increased significantly. From April to July 2024, he received offers from Michigan, Missouri Purdue, North Carolina, Kansas, Stanford Tennessee, Ohio State, Creighton, Michigan State, Alabama, UConn, Virginia, Wisconsin, Kentucky, Arkansas, Duke and UCF.

Playing for the Indiana Elite AAU team, Mullins was one of 11 players nationwide named to the adidas 3SSB Spring All-Circuit first team. With a 13-0 record, Mullins averaged 19.5 points, 3.7 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.7 steals per game while shooting 50.8% from the field.

Mullins first narrowed his list down to 10 schools – Indiana, Purdue, Alabama, Michigan, Tennessee, North Carolina, Duke, UConn, Kentucky and Kansas – and later three: Indiana, UConn and North Carolina.

Now a senior, Mullins is one of the top candidates for Indiana Mr. Basketball. Though he's the third-ranked player from Indiana, according to 247Sports, the top two players – Jalen Haralson (Notre Dame commit) and Darius Adams (UConn commit) – are not eligible for the award because they attend La Lumiere, a private school in La Porte, Ind.

As for the other finalists in Mullins' recruitment, UConn has one commitment in the class of 2025, five-star combo guard Darius Adams. North Carolina is in a similar spot, with a commitment from four-star combo guard Derek Dixon.

With a 0.9909 rating, Mullins would be the eighth-highest rated recruit in Indiana program history, behind Romeo Langford, Mackenzie Mgbako, Noah Vonleh, Cody Zeller, Bryson Tucker, Jalen Hood-Schifino and Khristian Lander, according to 247Sports.
