Hoosier Roundtable Podcast: Trey Galloway, Xavier Johnson Talk Fashion — And Some Basketball
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — As fun as it is for fans to watch Indiana play basketball lately, it's also been interesting to see the clothes their favorite players have been wearing.
Indiana point guard Xavier Johnson has missed 13 games in a row after breaking his foot on Dec. 17 at Kansas. Unable to dress for the games after surgery, he instead gets ''dressed out'' for each game.
He really turned some heads last Saturday when Indiana entertained No. 1 Purdue at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall. He wore a short that HoosiersNow.com publisher Tom Brew said ''looked exactly like the baby blanket that my grandmother knitted for me.''
Johnson, a self-admitted fashion lover, has had quite a few interesting clothing choices the past month or so. So for this segment of the ''Hoosier Roundtable'' podcast hosted by Sports Illustrated Indiana's Tom Brew, we had to bring in an expert for a true fashion breakdown — Indiana guard Trey Galloway.
Galloway's wardrobe is exceptional too, very 2023 hipster. He broke down all of Johnson's fashion choices in our podcast, and then also talked about his strange scarf look earlier this week, too. The picture of Galloway with Indiana star Trayce Jackson-Davis went viral on social media.
"I like scarves, and it's been cold out lately,'' Galloway said during the podcast. ''I just threw it together. People seemed to like it.''
There are plenty of laughs about clothes in the podcast, but there's a lot of great basketball talk, too, in the 30-minute show.
