BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana is back in action Friday night against Minnesota.

Coach Mike Woodson and the Hoosiers are coming off a 66-57 loss at Rutgers, which included point guard Xavier Johnson being ejected, 18 turnovers and 39.7% shooting.

On the other side, Minnesota enters Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall with a seven-game win streak, most recently picking up Big Ten wins over Michigan and Maryland. The Golden Gophers are on pace to have their best season under coach Ben Johnson.

Meet the coaches

  • Ben Johnson, Minnesota: Johnson is in his third season at Minnesota with a 34-41 overall record and a 9-33 record in Big Ten play. Minnesota finished 13th and 14th in the Big Ten in Johnson's first two seasons and has not qualified for any postseason tournament. Prior to earning his first head coaching job at Minnesota, Johnson was an assistant at Xavier, Minnesota, Nebraska, Northern Iowa and Texas-Pan American. He played at Northwestern and Minnesota from 1999-2004.
  • Mike Woodson, Indiana: Woodson is in his third season at Indiana with a 55-31 overall record and a 24-21 mark in regular season Big Ten play. Woodson has NBA head coaching experience with the Atlanta Hawks from 2004-10 and the New York Knicks from 2012-14. Woodson played at Indiana University from 1976-80, and was named the Big Ten's Most Valuable Player as a senior under coach Bob Knight.
