BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — The 2023-24 Indiana men's and women's basketball teams will have 12 combined games during the regular season broadcast exclusively on Peacock.

College football had already seen the trickle down effects of NBC acquiring the TV rights to broadcast Big Ten sporting events, with several highly desirable games being put behind the paywall of the media company's streaming service. On Tuesday, the college basketball world got its first taste of the new era of televised sporting events.

In order to watch some of Indiana's most highly anticipated games during this upcoming 2023-24 season, fans of the Hoosiers will have to purchase Peacock. In order to purchase a streaming plan for Peacock, CLICK HERE

The more commonly purchased premium plan starts at $5.99 per month, and will give fans access to the five Indiana men's basketball games and seven Indiana women's basketball games that will be exclusive to Peacock. There is also the premium plus plan, which starts at $11.99 per month, and includes the added benefits of more limited advertisements, the ability to download and watch select titles offline and access to local NBC channels.

There's also a Peacock student discount, where college students can access the service for just $1.99 per month with annual verification of their student status.

Here are the five games that coach Mike Woodson and his Indiana Hoosiers will be playing on Peacock during the 2023-24 season:

Indiana Men's Basketball Games on Peacock

  • Indiana at Michigan; Tuesday, Dec. 5, at 9 p.m. ET.
  • Indiana at Rutgers; Tuesday, Jan. 9, at 7 p.m. ET.
  • Purdue at Indiana; Tuesday, Jan. 16, at 7 p.m. ET.
  • Indiana at Ohio State; Tuesday, Feb. 6, at 7 p.m. ET.
  • Wisconsin at Indiana; Tuesday, Feb. 27, at 7 p.m. ET.

At the very least, it's nice that all five of these matchups will be on Tuesdays during the college basketball season. That at least gives the Peacock exclusive viewings some form of scheduled regularity.

Of course, the biggest news here is that Purdue at Indiana on Jan. 16, will be put behind the Peacock paywall. It's hard to blame NBC executives for making that choice, as the Hoosiers' matchups with the Boilermakers are sure to be a ratings hit and should draw in a plethora of new Peacock subscribers.

Here are the seven games that coach Teri Moren and her team will be playing on Peacock during the 2023-24 season:

Indiana Women's Basketball Games on Peacock

  • Minnesota at Indiana; Wednesday, Jan. 17, at 8 p.m. ET.
  • Indiana at Purdue; Sunday, Jan. 21, at 2 p.m. ET.
  • Indiana at Maryland; Wednesday, Jan. 31, at 7 p.m. ET.
  • Michigan State at Indiana; Thursday, Feb. 8, at 7 p.m. ET.
  • Indiana at Wisconsin; Wednesday, Feb. 14, at 8 p.m. ET.
  • Iowa at Indiana, Thursday, Feb. 22, at 8 p.m. ET.
  • Maryland at Indiana; Sunday, Mar. 3, 8 p.m. ET.

All but two matchups for the Hoosiers will be a Sunday or Wednesday game, again contributing to a sense of regularity with the schedule.

The biggest game listed here is the final one — Iowa at Indiana. It's the defending Big Ten regular season champions against the defending NCAA championship runner-up. It's Mackenzie Holmes vs Caitlin Clark. It's Teri Moren vs Lisa Bluder. It's one of the biggest games in women's college basketball, and one that fans will have to purchase Peacock to watch on Thursday, Feb. 22.
