Indiana Signee Liam McNeeley To Play in Chipotle Nationals at Brownsburg High School
Indiana fans will get an opportunity to see Liam McNeeley play close to his future home this spring.
McNeeley, who signed a National Letter of Intent to Indiana University in November, will play in the Chipotle Nationals at Brownsburg High School from April 4-6. This tournament was formerly known as the GEICO High School Basketball Nationals and is a season-ending tournament with some of the nation's top teams. It will be broadcast on ESPN platforms.
Montverde Academy, currently 29-0, will be one of eight teams in the boys' tournament. The girls' tournament will feature six teams. The full list of participants for both tournaments will be announced the week of March 11, but according to the Indianapolis Star, the tournament may also feature top recruits like Jalen Haralson, A.J. Dybantsa, Tyran Stokes, Cameron and Cayden Boozer, Kiyan Anthony and Jase Richardson. Tickets are available at Chipotlenationals.com.
Along with McNeeley, the top-ranked Montverde team features the nation's No. 1 recruit, Cooper Flagg, who's committed to Duke, along with Derik Queen (Maryland), Asa Newell (Georgia) and Robert Wright (Baylor). Coached by Kevin Boyle, Montverde won the high school national championship seven times since 2013.
Regarded as one of the top high school 3-point shooters, McNeeley is ranked No. 14 in the nation by the 247Sports Composite, making him the fourth-highest ranked recruit in program history in the rankings era. He's currently the only player committed to Indiana in the class of 2024.
