BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Eastern Kentucky guard Leland Walker is yet another transfer that's been linked to Indiana.

According to The Portal Report, Walker has heard from Indiana, Duquesne, Kansas, Georgia, Virginia Tech, Iowa, Utah State, Richmond, DePaul, Seton Hall, Georgetown, Western Kentucky, ECU, Tulane, Loyola Chicago, Iona, Bryant, Arkansas State and Coastal Carolina.

Walker is a 6-foot-1 guard with two years of remaining eligibility. As a sophomore in 2023-24, he averaged 15.4 points and 4.1 assists while shooting 43.3% from the field, 34.2% from 3-point range and 84.2% from the free throw line. Walker started 29-of-31 games and was named to the All-Atlantic Sun first team.

Walker had 11 games with 20-plus points this season, including a season-high 29 points against North Florida and a 20-point performance at Alabama. Eastern Kentucky won the regular season Atlantic Sun title, but lost in the conference tournament.

As a freshman in 2022-23, Walker made three starts and came off the bench in 34 games, playing 21.3 minutes per game. He averaged 9.4 points and 2.7 assists while shooting 38.7% from the field, 32.2% from 3-point range and 78.6% from the free throw line.

Prior to Eastern Kentucky, Walker graduated from Hargrave Military Academy in Chatham, Va. Earlier in his career, he attended North Central High School in Indianapolis, Ind. and played in the Indiana Junior All-Star Game during the summer of 2021. Walker averaged 19 points per game for North Central as a junior.

Indiana has lost two guards from its 2023-24 roster, with Xavier Johnson graduating and CJ Gunn entering the transfer portal. That currently leaves Trey Galloway, Anthony Leal, Gabe Cupps and Jakai Newton as the Hoosiers' guards heading into next season. Forward Anthony Walker is out of eligibility, and Kaleb Banks and Payton Sparks also entered the transfer portal.

Coach Mike Woodson now has six open scholarships to fill heading into the 2024-25 season.
