Indiana Makes Top 10 For 2025 Shooting Guard Joson Sanon
Indiana is one of 10 programs in the running for 6-foot-5 shooting guard Joson Sanon.
The class of 2025 recruit will also consider Arizona, Boston College, Connecticut, Georgia, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisville, Overtime Elite and Providence, as first reported by On3's Joe Tipton.
Sanon is on the border of four and five-star status, depending on the recruiting service. He's ranked as high as No. 9 nationally in the ESPN 60 rankings, No. 11 by Rivals, No. 12 by 247Sports and No. 14 by On3.
Sanon attends Vermont Academy in Saxtons River, Vt., where he is currently a junior. He recently participated in the HoopHall Prep Showcase in Springfield, Mass., from Jan. 12-15 and put up big numbers. Leading Vermont Academy to wins over No. 15 Putnam Science and No. 9 Fork Union, Sanon scored 32 and 29 points, respectively.
"Sanon's shot creation skills off the dribble, catch-and-shoot marksmanship and overall ability to score the ball have continued to dominate contests as he has done for some time now," Dylan Thayer of newenglandrecruitingreport.com wrote.
Last summer, Sanon played for the AAU team Expressions Elite Basketball and was named to the Nike EYBL regular season all-underclass team after averaging 14.6 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game.
Coach Mike Woodson and his staff hosted an official visit for Sanon when Indiana played Kansas on Dec. 16. He's also visited Oklahoma State and Arizona officially, plus unofficial visits to Providence, UConn and Boston College.
Indiana does not have any commitments in the class of 2025 yet, though the vast majority of that class remains uncommitted. Woodson has landed one commitment in the class of 2024, five-star small forward Liam McNeeley.
