Indiana Recruiting Targets McNeeley, Queen Playing On ESPN Networks Friday Through Sunday
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Two of Indiana's top recruiting targets can be seen on various ESPN networks Friday through Sunday.
Five-star prospects Liam McNeeley, Derik Queen and several of their Montverde Academy teammates are playing for the Florida Eagles in the GEICO Top Flight Invite at Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas, Nev. Other members of the team include Cooper Flagg, Asa Newell, Robert Wright III, Curtis Givens III, Ace Flagg, Caleb Gaskins, Kayden Allen and Dhani Miller.
McNeeley and Queen's first game tips off Friday at 10:45 p.m. ET on ESPN-plus, but Sunday's games will also be broadcast on ESPNU and ESPN2.
Liam McNeeley is set to announce his college decision on Sunday. He and teammate Derik Queen, also an Indiana recruiting target, will be playing for the Florida Eagles in the GEICO Top Flight Invite. From Friday through Sunday, these games will be broadcast on ESPN-plus, ESPNU and ESPN2.
Here's the full event schedule, per espnpressroom.com.
McNeeley's decision comes highly anticipated, as he's one of the top players in the high school class of 2023. The 6-foot-7 small forward is an elite 3-point shooter, but he also plays with high basketball IQ and can defend multiple positions. He's ranked within the top 20 among all major recruiting sites and will decide between Indiana and Kansas.
Indiana is widely considered the favorite for McNeeley. Recruiting site On3 gives Indiana an 86.1% chance to land McNeeley. Two crystal ball predictions from 247 Sports have McNeeley going to Indiana. Seven Rivals predictions agree, and college basketball recruiting insider Trilly Donovan, who is 42-for-44 when predicting recruiting commitments, picked Indiana. None of these sites have cast predictions for McNeeley to play for Kansas.
Indiana coach Mike Woodson and his staff have traveled to Montverde Academy several times over the last few months to visit McNeeley and Queen, who visited Indiana together in September. Landing McNeeley, a teammate and friend of Queen's, would help Indiana's chances, though Woodson has serious competition for Queen.
While McNeeley's commitment will be announced Sunday, Queen will take a bit longer. The 6-foot-9 center and consensus top-20 recruit has taken official visits to Indiana, Kansas, Houston and LSU, and he's scheduled to visit Maryland from Oct. 20-22.
