BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Mike Woodson and the Indiana basketball coaching staff wrapped up an important weekend with official visits from three highly-touted recruits.

Class of 2024 prospects Liam McNeeley, Curtis Givens III and Derik Queen arrived in Bloomington Friday and shared a variety of pictures and videos from the visit.

The three recruits are teammates at Montverde Academy in Florida, a powerhouse basketball prep school where Jalen Hood-Schifino and Malik Reneau played, as well as NBA players like D'Angelo Russell, Ben Simmons, R.J. Barrett, Cade Cunningham and others.

Indiana does not currently have any commitments in the class of 2024, but the Hoosiers' class could quickly climb the national rankings with commitments from one or more of Queen, McNeeley and Givens. McNeeley and Queen are both consensus five-star recruits, with McNeeley ranked No. 8 in the nation and Queen No. 10 in the 247 Sports Composite. Givens is considered a four-star prospect, ranked No. 59 overall and No. 5 among point guards in his class, per the 247 Sports Composite.

During the visit, the recruits took pictures and videos at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall, toured the basketball facilities, stopped by Memorial Stadium for the Indiana vs. Indiana State football game and much more.

Here are a handful of images shared on social media from the weekend.

McNeeley's official visit video included a personal touch, as he held a Whataburger flag over his shoulders. McNeeley grew up in Texas, where the fast food chain was founded, before transferring to Montverde in Florida.

At 6-foot-7, McNeeley is one of the top high school 3-point shooters, and he recently discussed his skillset and recruitment in an exclusive interview with HoosiersNow.com reporter Daniel Olinger. In June, McNeeley announced a top-six list of Alabama, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Oklahoma and Texas. He currently has a visit scheduled to Texas on Sept. 22.

Queen is ranked second among high school centers, behind Flory Bidunga, who recently committed to Kansas. For an in-depth breakdown of Queen's game, check out this film study article by Olinger. While Queen has not narrowed down his list of schools, Maryland, Indiana and Kansas are considered the top contenders.

Queen has impressive passing ability for a forward, and while he isn't much of a jump shooter, he excels with crafty post moves and soft touch. He played AAU basketball for Team Thrill on the Under Armour circuit. Before transferring to Montverde, Queen attended St. Frances Academy in Baltimore, Md.

Givens, a 6-foot-2 point guard, joined McNeeley and Queen in Bloomington over the weekend. Indiana offered Givens back in April, and other schools in his top seven include LSU, Memphis, Texas, UConn, Georgia Tech and Villanova.

Givens averaged 14.8 PPG in 24 games for MoKan Elite on the Nike EYBL Circuit, and has shot 35.6 percent from 3-point range across 63 games with MoKan Elite, Montverde and The Skill Factory 15U from 2021-23. Before transferring to Montverde, Givens attended Memphis University School in Tennessee.

McNeeley, Queen and Givens have not announced their college decisions yet, but Indiana is clearly making a push to start the 2024 class on a high note. Woodson has gone after a handful of highly-ranked prospects in this cycle as he aims to bring Indiana back to national prominence.

"When I took the job, I made it clear to my coaches that we deserve to sit at the table with the best players," Woodson said. "We kind of squabbled a little bit early on because they didn't think we were in the position to be able to do that, and I thought we were based on Indiana basketball and the history of it."

"So I didn't accept no for an answer, and I told them that I wanted to be able to sit at the table with the best players and compete with the Kentuckys, the Kansas, the Dukes, teams like that. All they can do is tell us no, but we've got to get there. And we've been able to get there some, so it's kind of nice."

Following the visit, freshman Gabe Cupps joined Indiana's recruiting efforts, posting a picture with McNeeley's Whataburger flag and the caption "Calling @liammcneeley. Answer me bro."

Though Jalen Hood-Schifino is now with the Los Angeles Lakers, he chimed in on the recruitment via social media, commenting on McNeeley's Instagram post. Hood-Schifino also attended Montverde Academy and won 2023 Big Ten Freshman of the Year in his lone season with the Hoosiers.
