BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — After missing the NCAA Tournament during each of his first two years, there's no denying that this is an important season for Indiana coach Archie Miller. Now we know the when and were of IU's schedule for the 2019-20 season.

The Hoosiers open with Western Illinois on Nov. 5 and, as usual, never leave the confines of Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall in November, playing seven games, all of which they will be favored to win.

The first real test is against Florida State on Dec. 3 in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge. The Seminoles are very good, and this is the first meeting between the two in the two-decade history of the event. IU is 4-0 al-time against Florida State.

The Big Ten season starts a few days later when IU travels to Wisconsin on Dec. 7. The other early conference game is against Nebraska on Dec. 13.

Other December nonconference highlights include meeting the Connecticut at Madison Square Garden in New York (Dec. 10), Notre Dame in Indianapolis (Dec. 21) and Arkansas in Bloomington (Dec. 29).

The other 18 Big Ten games are after the first of the year. Indiana plays home and home series with Purdue, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Maryland, Ohio State, Minnesota and Penn State. They only play Michigan State, Michigan, Northwestern, Iowa, Rutgers and Illinois once.

The Big Ten tournament is March 11-15, and it's back in Indianapolis this season.

Hoosier Hysteria gets it all started on Saturday, Oct. 5 at 4 p.m. at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall. There is no football game that weekend.
