Indiana, Penn State Will Be Without Key Players in Saturday's Game Due to Injury
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Sunday's matchup between Indiana and Penn State features several notable injuries.
On the Big Ten's pregame availability report, Indiana senior point guard Xavier Johnson (elbow) is listed out. Sophomore forward and leading scorer Malik Reneau (ankle) is listed questionable.
Penn State sophomore guard and leading scorer Kanye Clary (face) will not play Sunday. He averages 18.4 points per game.
Johnson and Reneau suffered these injuries during the Hoosiers 74-68 win over Iowa on Tuesday. The Hoosiers played all but 30 minutes without Reneau, which elevated senior forward Anthony Walker's role. Johnson has missed seven games due to injury this season, and freshman Gabe Cupps has been the replacement in each contest.
Clary took an elbow to the face during Penn State's 83-74 home loss against Minnesota on Jan. 27, and he did not play during the Nittany Lions' 61-46 win at Rutgers on Wednesday. Junior guard D'Marco Dunn started in Clary's absence and scored 14 points.
Tipoff is scheduled for Noon ET inside Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall in Bloomington, Ind.
