Montverde's 2024 Five-Star Wing Liam McNeeley Down to Six Schools
Indiana is in the mix for another five-star recruit.
On Saturday, Liam McNeeley narrowed his recruitment down to six schools:Â Alabama, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Oklahoma and Texas.
McNeeley is widely considered one of the top players in the class of 2024. He's ranked No. 7 by Rivals, No. 8 in the ESPN Top 100, No. 11 by On3, and No. 13 by 247Sports. Playing for the Florida Rebels AAU team on the Nike EYBL Circuit this spring, McNeeley is averaging 15.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.8 assists on 41.7 percent 3-point shooting.
A 6-foot-7 wing, McNeeley is highly regarded for his inside-out play.
"McNeeley is as versatile as they come in the 2024 class," 247Sports' recruiting analyst Brandon Jenkins wrote. "He has the handle and feel to run an offense and with his textbook shooting stroke, he has the capability to be a knockdown three-point shooter. The best area of his game is his passing as his vision is above average and he is willing to find the open man. He is unselfish to a fault, but he plays the game the right way. A high IQ prospect who can bring something to the table at either forward position, McNeeley should excel as a reliable complimentary option at the collegiate level."
Indiana has been involved with McNeeley's recruitment for over a year. He took an official visit to Bloomington in September of 2022 and has mentioned a potential return this summer.
McNeeley's recruitment continues a string of Montverde Academy players linked to Indiana. Coach Mike Woodson landed Jalen Hood-Schifino and Malik Reneau out of Montverde in the class of 2022, and he's recruiting 2024 prospects McNeeley, Asa Newell, Derik Queen and Curtis Givens III.
