We'll go in order starting with No. 4-seed Villanova. The Wildcats hold a 30-6 record this season and beat both Cleveland State University and Florida Gulf Coast University by 17 or more points to advance to their first Sweet 16 since 2003.

Villanova's opponent 9-seed Miami is coming off a huge buzzer-beater win over 1-seed Indiana in the second round. The Hurricanes defeated Oklahoma State in the first round as both tournament wins have been by a combined three points. Miami holds a 21-12 season record so far as it'll make its first Sweet 16 since 1992.

Two-seed Utah has done well in its first and second round wins as the Utes took down Gardner-Webb 103-77 and Princeton 63-56. Utah holds a 27-4 season record and advance to the Sweet 16 for the first time since 2001.

Opponent 3-seed LSU has had a stellar season as the Tigers have only totaled two losses this season and comfortably beat Hawaii and Michigan in the first and second rounds by 23 or more points each. The Tigers return to the Sweet 16 for the 15th time and first since the 2013-14 season.

Moving onto the Seattle 4 region, 2-seed Iowa with a 28-6 record destroyed Southeast Louisiana 95-43 in the first round before earning another solid win over Georgia in the second round. The Hawkeyes last appeared in the Sweet 16 round in the 2020-21 season before falling to UConn.

Iowa's opponent 6-seed Colorado carries a 25-8 season record and knocked off Middle Tennessee in the first round and beat Duke in overtime in the second. The Buffaloes haven't made the NCAA Tournament since 2013 let alone a Sweet 16 since 2003.

The 5-seed Louisville Cardinals have a 25-11 season record and took down Drake by two points in the first round and Texas by 22 in the second. The Cardinals are very used to March Madness as they've made the tournament the past 11 years not including the COVID-19 year. Last season, they made a Final Four appearance before falling to the eventual champion South Carolina.

The 8-seed Ole Miss rebels hold a 25-8 season record and beat Gonzaga 71-48 in the first round before stunning one-seed Stanford in the second round that hasn't missed a Sweet 16 since 2003. The Rebels' best tournament finish last came in 2007 when they made it to the Elite Eight.

In the Greenville 1 region, 2-seed Maryland cruised past Holy Cross and Arizona in the first and second rounds. The Terrapins with a 27-6 overall record have played in the Sweet 16 round the past two seasons.

Three-seed Notre Dame that will face the Terrapins took down Southern Utah in the first round and overcame Mississippi State 53-48 in the second. The Fighting Irish with a 27-5 record made the Sweet 16 last season and have played in 27 total NCAA Tournaments.

One-seed and the No. 1 overall seed South Carolina is the team to beat as it's the only undefeated team left in women's basketball. The reigning NCAA Tournament champions beat Norfolk State and USF by 31 or more points in the first and second rounds.

The UCLA Bruins will face the Gamecocks after taking down Sacramento State and Oklahoma in their first two tournament matchups. With a 27-9 season record, UCLA makes its first Sweet 16 since 2019.

Two-seed UConn with a 31-5 record beat down on Vermont and then Baylor to advance to its 28th consecutive Sweet 16. Last year, the Huskies were runner up to South Carolina.

Ohio State will face the Huskies as the Buckeyes hold a 27-7 season record and took down James Madison in the first round and overcame North Carolina by two points in the second. Ohio State returns to the Sweet 16 for the second season in a row.

One-seed Virginia Tech has only lost four games this season. The Hokies took care of Chattanooga and South Dakota State in the first and second rounds and will compete in the Sweet 16 for only the second time in program history and first since 1999.

The Tennessee Volunteers will appear in their 41st NCAA Tournament and second consecutive Sweet 16 appearance as a 4-seed with a 25-11 season record.
