BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Indiana wrapped up the nonconference portion of their 2023-24 basketball schedule on Friday night with a late rally to beat Kennesaw State 100-87.
The Hoosiers are on 10-3 on the season, and they resume Big Ten play on Wednesday when they travel to Lincoln, Neb. to take on the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
This was the biggest offensive outburst for the Hoosiers, hitting the century mark on a Malik Reneau free throw in the closing seconds. Reneau, a sophomore power forward, was the star of the game for the Hoosiers. He finished with a career-high 34 points on 13-of-19 shooting. He had 25 points last Thursday, which was also a career high.
The Hoosiers had six players in double figures. Mackenzie Mgbako and Trey Galloway each had 14 points, Kaleb Banks had 12 and Anthony Walker and Payton Sparks each had 10.
Sparks got his first career start at center for the Hoosiers. He played for Kel'el Ware, who missed the game with an illness.
