In the first game since the All-Star break, Trayce Jackson-Davis made a huge impact in the Golden State Warriors' win over the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday night. The former Indiana star scored 17 points in just 15 minutes of work.

The rookie took 10 shots in Thursday night's game, knocking down eight. He also collected five rebounds and blocked two shots in a 128-110 victory.

With the NBA All-Star Week in Indianapolis, Jackson-Davis decided to return to Bloomington last week. He attended Indiana's game against Northwestern at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall, a 76-72 victory for the Wildcats.

Prior to the All-Star festivities, Jackson-Davis made his return to his home state on Feb. 9 when the Warriors battled the Indiana Pacers. The former Hoosier standout only saw action for four minutes, but scored six points and grabbed two rebounds in a 131-109 win for Golden State.

Jackson-Davis has seen action in 41 games for the Warriors this season. The rookie is averaging 6.7 points, four rebounds and nearly a block per contest while logging just under 13 minutes.

When Chris Paul returns to Golden State's lineup, Warriors coach Steve Kerr says he likes how Jackson-Davis can help with the second unit.

"He gives Chris a lob threat, so you can see what that unit might look like," he said. "It'll be great to get Chris back and kind of put that group together and see what they do."

Sometimes, it can be difficult for a rookie to find a role with an NBA team. Jackson-Davis continues to take advantage of the opportunities he's getting with the Warriors.
