IOWA CITY, Iowa — Iowa junior guard Caitlin Clark is incredible, and there's no denying the reigning Big Ten Player of the Year's talent as she hit the three-point buzzer beater shot to defeat No. 2 Indiana women's basketball on Sunday afternoon.

"Honestly I thought it was money," Clark said. "When I saw it go through the rim, I was excited."

With 1.5 seconds left on the clock, Hoosier junior guard Chloe Moore-McNeil slipped and fell allowing Clark to break free and throw up a shot on the wing.

Clark immediately ran to the crowd as her teammates congratulated her and the Hawkeye flags flew across Carver-Hawkeye Arena.

"Chloe just fell," Indiana women's basketball head coach Teri Moren said. "I mean, I don't know if she got her foot tangled or if she fell on her own. I think it would have been different if she would have been able to stay on her feet. I think we would have been able to crowd her 1.5 seconds.

"Cait is an excellent player, and she might have still been able to get it off, but I think it would have been guarded, you know, and so it's unfortunate. It's one of those dumb luck things, but as I said earlier, it never comes down to one play."

Clark ended the game with a game-high 34 points while Hoosier senior forward Mackenzie Holmes tallied 21. Indiana fought hard to get back into the game after a sizable deficit of 13 points in the first quarter, but the Hoosiers never held back. They just came up a shot short.

Up next, both Iowa and Indiana will head to Minneapolis, Minn. to face the rest of the Big Ten foes in the Big Ten Tournament from March 1-5.
